Disrespectful.
This is what I think of when I think of Love Belvin and her Love’s Improbable Possibility series. How dare she make me change my negative views on series based on a single couple? How dare she write four books that kept me up into the wee hours of the morning reading for three nights in a row, knowing that I have to work in the morning? How dare she make me feel like an addict waiting for their next fix while reading? HOW. DARE. SHE ?
Um, I have the tendency to be a bit dramatic at times, but still…..HOW. DARE. SHE?
I wasn’t even supposed to read this series. I had just finished reading The Tempest (the third book in Shakir Rashaan’s Nubian Underworld series) and I was looking for a book to read while waiting for the next release on my list. I had no idea that I would be sucked into the world of Rayna Brimm and Azmir Divine Jacobs.
Books in the Love’s Improbable Possibility Series In Order
- Love Lost
- Love Unexpected
- Love Uncharted
- Love Redeemed
Summary
New Jersey-born Rayna Brimm is an overcomer who has leapt over every obstacle that has the misfortune of being in her way. Her rocky adolescence leads to an even rockier early adulthood. The rough exterior she has built to protect herself has remained intact until she meets Azmir Jacobs.
Azmir Divine Jacobs has just ended a long-term relationship. At 37, he no longer wishes to revert back to his bed-hopping ways. He wants something more, quality.
While Rayna and Azmir find each other, they must sort through their baggage to find love.
The Verdict
All books are rated on a scale of 1-5 lilies found here.
The Love’s Improbable Possibility series begins with a slow start with Love Belvin spending a significant part of the book on Rayna’s background. At first I felt that Belvin was spending too much time on Rayna’s childhood and early life, but I soon realized that it was necessary to explain how she reacted to situations later in life.
Time-wise, it was hard to follow the story. Three books in, I didn’t know how long Rayna and Azmir had been involved. Aside from that, the plot was easy to follow and kept me interested. While there were a lot of twists and turns, the Love’s Improbable Possibility series did not come across as a soap opera to me.
How does Love Belvin manage to create such human characters?
Rayna Brimm-
Rayna is a multifaceted woman, throughout the series we see her peel away the layers. The best part is that she has a regular job, a job that she has to go to or she will be fired. This bit of reality is missing in many romance novels.
Azmir Divine Jacobs-
Azmir is a wealthy media mogul/businessman, and before you roll you eyes he is also portrayed as being so much more. While Azmir has traveled the world and is friends with some of the most elite people in entertainment and business, he too has flaws. At some points in the series his actions or lack there of highlight that he too can be stupid.
I loved that I was able to see their growth as individuals and as a couple while reading. By the middle of the 4th book we learn that Rayna and Azmir have only been involved for less than a year, but as a reader it felt like a lifetime.
I LOVED the supporting characters in the Love’s Improbable Possibility series. There was a realistic mixture of villains, friends and family that helped the story progress naturally. Rayna and Azmir were not secluded in a bubble and immune to life and the hills and valleys that come with it. As usual, there are a few characters that I would like to have a few minutes alone with to set straight, (Dawn Taylor, Amber and Spin I’m looking at you).

Dawn Taylor would top the list of fictional characters that I abhor, replacing Reverend Dr. Reuben Gregory from “Amen”, but I am petty and don’t want her to win anything so I’ll give her second place out of spite.
Love’s Improbable Possibilities is a solid series that will have you on the edge of your seat.
Would I Recommend?
It’s official, Love Belvin is ruining me for future romance novels. Her characters and storylines provide such complexity that I do not know if I can go back to the standard “Boy meets girl, they fall in love, they meet a challenge, they fix it, they get married” Romance Novels. I highly recommend reading this book series if you are looking for a solid book series that is unpredictable. READ THIS SERIES AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.
This book is great for readers ages 18 and older only. Contains Mature Content.
Thanks for the write-up, Lily! I appreciate you giving me a chance. And based on your thorough review, we’ve connected so much on the story. Please keep in touch!

I totally agree! This series moved me ! After the first couple of chapters I went all in and bought all 4 books! Loves character development is unbelievable, I felt like I knew this couple personally. I’m an avid reader with about 1000 plus books on my kindle but, this series I had to have in paper back too, which Love personally signed 😀. I will forever be on the Love Belvin train 🚝😘
