Damaged Goods

I shouldn’t have done this to you

For months I have neglected you, made you feel like you were nothing

I tried to revive our relationship by bringing you gifts and pampering you

I should have asked you if you were okay with this

Instead I forced my hand and combed it through all of the kinks in your argument

I was careful, though, I used protection

When the deed was done, I paraded you around as if you were better

Now you won’t respond to me

I massaged you with all of your favorite oils and balms

Still nothing

I have spent endless days reading books on our relationship

They say it cannot be fixed

I have no choice but to cut my losses and let you go

After three years, I have to start again

I’m sorry,

I shouldn’t have done this to you

“I was careful, though, I used protection” too funny! Very nice poem on your relationship with your hair. I can relate so much as I read it. Starting fresh is sometimes what we need. I’m looking forward to seeing your journey and new relationship with your hair!
